Sorry guys, my book is still in repair process. It's almost fixed! I'll have some exciting historical artifacts I found during my holiday that I've yet to post on the internet! Or photograph! It will be pretty awesome.

Shh.
Sorry I didn't scan more sketches from the trip of people I drew in parks! Some of them are pretty funny stories but unfortunately my sketchbook is in need of dire repair and is currently being glued back together. It's going to be stronger and more handsome than ever!
In the meantime I've uploaded a rough sketch from a TOP SECRET project. SHH. Don't tell or else! For your eyes only! This may or may not be a rough for a certain upcoming book. Okay it is.
It's going to be fun but I don't want to give too much away. I know I've shown a lot of people the work in process but not the internet!
Until next time!

Boatsketch
Hey guys! (Should I start each post like that?) I'm back from my trip so I'll be posting everyday again! You can count on it. This was a sketch I did during the airplane. I'll compile several images I did during the trip for tomorrow. This one was a sketch that turned into a boat. Funny faced dragon stuff going on right there.

Red Rider
Hey guys! I'm out of town and don't have access to much of my equipment. So I'm posting an old image from my website right now. I might not get to update everyday during this time either. This image is from my Baba-yaga series. It's the red horseman with Vasilisa.

Air Sketches (Current)
Hey guys! Sorry I've been irresponsible by not posting for three days. That's because I've been in cars and airplanes. But you know what comes with being stuck in airplanes not being able to move, right? Sketches! Here's one.
Do you like seeing only sketches for a week? I knew you would.
This one I actually did a couple of days ago instead of November last year! Wow!
To explain the image- I like drawing buildings combined with vehicles. Have you seen those Scandinavian dragon churches? Well not like this, boom! The lettering I messed up but who cares.

Air Sketches 2
Hi guys! I forgot to upload yesterday. Not sure what was up with me. Here's more sketches I did while stuck on an airplane to fill the gap! The middle one I'm working on right now to become a full color painting. I'm going to do two today and change the date on this post so I can cheat time.

Air sketches
These are some sketches I did while stuck on an airplane. Something about being confined for 10+ hours without being able to move really gets me working.

Elf n' Beetle
This was the first image I tried to paint for my girlfriend before leaving Japan after finishing university. This was a few days before, "Scholar Cat". This painting was partially ruined around the top and sides because when I put lacquer varnish on it it blurred the edges of some lines and was too thick in some parts. Sometimes this sort of thing happens with varnish so now a days I carefully use spray varnish over the top. Scholar Cat was to replace this mishap.
If you look carefully you can see the composition contains a perfect spiral starting from the center of the snail shell.
I think the border looked a little too romantic or whatnot, so more recently I've kept borders more geometrical.

Medieval Feast
Hey guys! I tried my hand at trying to make a tri-fold menu. I got this far but never did the reverse side because I felt like I needed to redo the drawing because it's too rough. It doesn't sit well with the digitally created borders and textile patterns in the background. If it's a little more cleanly drawn and a more complex design it might work.
So basically it's a joke menu for a fictional medieval themed restaurant called "Medieval Feast" with the slogan "Prices so Fair You'll Never Go Baroque!!" it's hard to read because of the font. Letter 'e' looks like 'r' doesn't it. I might redo this and get a real one printed because when they're printed out it makes it really cool and nifty. It's also not very done in that on the middle and right panels there is lots of empty space which should be filled by more illustrations. I might do the whole image like I did Sodam Cafe's sign by hand drawing and then going over the top with illustrator.
Anyway enjoy!

Cat Scholar
This image I painted as a gift for my girlfriend on one of the last days I was in Japan for university. It didn't make it into the portfolio because I didn't have time to photograph it.
I like this image a lot.
