Game Background

Hey guys! I'm still going to paint that painting but I didn't continue yet because it's a very busy day at work. Get off my back already! Just kidding I want to update and share everything.

This is an image I did for a game that never went farther than this. It's just a pencil sketch with colored textures cut into shapes underneath.

Lookin at a town 1

I'm going to upload pictures of my new painting each day I'm painting it. This way I'll have pressure and I'll get off my lazy fat chair and get it done. It's going to be the painting version of one of my air sketches.
You're in for a treat because you love this kind of stuff I'm sure.

Cabrillo 7

More of that. You can see the lazy trees again. I like the grass though. It looks like an ear in that cloth fold up there. Weird.

Cabrillo 6

Sorry I've been lame and not posting for the last 10 days. Some cool stuff will come soon!
These are more community college drawings. I was made to study and copy Francois Bouchet drawings. They are kinda sucky. I don't like how I Ghibli'd the face of the top image.

Cabrillo 5

I had this little pig doll and drew pictures of it in community college.

Last year I visited South Korea and did a mural with my girlfriend. You can still find it for 1 more year at Tongyeong, S.Korea (Dongpirang village). Go see it!

Cabrillo 3

This is when they tried to teach us point perspective in art class. I was a very smug little dude thinking I had that stuff down and started to do curved perspectives. I think it's still pretty cool what I came up with. Except for the bottom image. They told me to draw my room with a 1 point perspective so I made up a weird stupid room with the point being directly down into the center of the earth. You can see sort of a cult-like coffin alter there and a weird poster of a teddy bear. The Bat'leth is pretty cool though. I should have actually done my room, or at least a room in fine detail done from the ceiling.

Cabrillo 2

Here's more from my classwork at community college. That's a still life with sanguine conte. I really liked using dry medium then but now I'm not keen. It's dirty and highly transient. The bottom was my attempt at collage imagery. I hated the fact I was made to use collage so I just used newspaper as a backdrop and colored paper shapes cut out to form images. It's the bare minimum to technically be accepted as collage. Most people cut out photographs of people from magazines. I like the composition on this.

Cabrillo

This is anthropological historical paleontological discoveries that I found at my mother's house on holiday. I drew this stuff possibly in 2002 and 2003 when I went to community college! There is a LOT of work I found but unfortunately most of it's very very embarrassing/very bad.
This is some boring stuff that you do in art classes! I remember drawing that paper bag and teapot and thinking it was the best thing ever done by a human but now it looks mediocre to me. I drew lines around and all the details were blurry. I was 19 though. The bottom image is pretty cool too. I could have moved around the trees a little to improve composition. The middle bunch of leaves in the middle probably could be removed. Also the leaves are too lazily done. The tree on the left should be detailed and as dark as that paling.
More to come later!

East of the Sun West of the Moon

This is a character I made to be the protagonist in a series of paintings illustrating the fairytale "East of the Sun West of the Moon". There's a really cool part of the story where the little girl goes and talks to the four winds, (South, West, East & North). I was going to make each wind be personified by giant deistic birds. Each bird would be associated with species found in the direction in their name relative to Scandinavia, where I'd decided to place the story.
I had a lot of trouble designing the bird winds so I put the story on hold until I have no other ideas for painting series. This character is okay though. Everything is accurate to medieval Scandinavia.
Here's one of the birds. This one is an Albatross and would have been changed into the North Wind. Maybe with ice king powers. They would have been combined with Aristotle/Captain Power type "Stone; Fire; Ice; Wind" powers. Well one each. I have drawings where I've added icicles and snow to the bird but it looked dumb. Maybe I'll come back to it.

Random Peeps (people)

Here's some sketches I did of people! I'm trying to get better at characters for a book so drawing random people outside is good. Here's a few I've done, some on holiday and some just in town. The guy with the red guitar was super creepy and just sat in the middle of that park playing a guitar staring at girls exercising using hula-hoops. He was there for about a half hour. The top left girl with the poofy hair was a bartender at a cafe and I never saw the bottom of her legs. The girl in the top right is my girlfriend. Oh I should mention that two of them are dogs, not people.
